Recycling Dell Laptop Batteries

Recycling is one of the biggest and highly important advocacies of today. It is logical, simple and very easy to do. Numerous environmentalists all over the world are encouraging people to save the planet by not carelessly throwing their hp pavilion dv5-1038tx battery away, especially the rechargeable ones, and instead make new things (beautiful and even useful things!) out of them. Recyclable dell inspiron 1545 battery may be found in, among others, cordless power tools, cellular and cordless telephones, video camcorders, digital cameras and remote control toys and yes, in laptop computers as well!

If you own a Dell laptop or notebook computer, you ought to know that you can always recycle your unit’s batteries. Hence, if you think that your HP pavilion zv5200 battery have started to act up, don’t throw them right away just yet!

One thing you can do is to contact Dell directly and ask if they can replace your hp pavilion tx1000 battery for a new one either for free or for a nominal fee. Dell has what they call a “Battery Program” and you might be qualified to avail of a replacement.

Another thing you can do is to drop by a recycling plant or at a drop off center of an organization which aims to collect recyclable items such as your hp laptop batteries. Compared to the days of old when people had to contact their local sanitation department or go out of their way to go to a recycling center (which, more often than not, did not accommodate individual consumers), there are national organizations now that receive these items and ship them to a recycling or refurbishing facility. Drop off centers are usually the branches of popular supermarket chains, bookstores, computer retail and repair shops, schools and home furnishings stores. If you aren’t sure if there’s a drop off center near your area, search online for some of these national organizations (most of them have websites and toll free numbers) or ask your local government for help. Once the Dell inspiron 1545 ac adapter reach the said state-of-the-art refurbishing facility, reusable materials such as nickel, cadmium and iron are taken and used in the manufacture of stainless steel and even in the production of new Dell inspiron 1501 ac adapter.

You can do these two things in order to recycle your Dell laptop battery. Recycling them is not just a way to get rid of what you think are useless batteries. It is, more importantly, your answer to the clarion call of keeping the environment safe, clean and sound for the future generations.

Taking the Lag Out of Shutter Lag

In technical terms, the interval between the time you press the shutter button and when a pocket-size camera or smartphone actually snaps a picture is called “shutter lag.” In practical terms, that means every family photo shows a group of people yelling, “Take it already!”
Shutter lag comes from the fact that point-and-shoot cameras need one light sensor to serve two purposes. One is to show you what you are shooting in the camera’s LCD screen. In that mode, it lets in as much light as possible. But when you press the shutter button, the sensor has to reconfigure and carry out a series of tasks — shutting down the LCD, using face detection to spot people in the photos, setting focus and contrast, powering up the flash — before it can finally snap the photo.
The camera industry has worked hard to reduce shutter lag, but there are things photographers can do to reduce it even more. Chuck Westfall, a technical adviser from the camera maker Canon, offered some strategies.
Set the mode. Because focusing is the most time-consuming operation, it is the first place to attack the problem. First, make sure your focus is set to the most advantageous setting, which is called something like “continuous focus.” That means as you pan the camera around a room, it is constantly focusing as you go. It’s the default setting on most cameras, but check to make sure. Continuous focus eats Sony NP-FH50 Battery a bit more quickly, but you always have extra Sony NP-FH70 Battery ready, right? There may also be a setting called something like “quick shot,” “kids and pets,” or “action” designed to decrease shutter lag. It will be in your camera manual, which you’ve been meaning to read anyway.
Halfway depressed. There is a also a motor skill you have to develop. “The really important thing to do is depressing the shutter halfway to get all of the focusing out of the way,” said Mr. Westfall. When you press the shutter button halfway, the focus and exposure lock, so the heavy lifting is out of the way. When you press the button the rest of the way, all that is left is to shut off the LCD and refresh the image. “Once you develop that technique, the shutter is almost at S.L.R. level,” said Mr. Westfall.
No flashing. Another big time-killer is the flash, which has to store up power before it can fire. “Depending on the level of the Fujifilm FinePix J30 Charger , the time it takes to build up power to fire the flash can be a few seconds,” said Mr. Westfall. If you don’t absolutely need it, turn it off.
Shut ‘em down. Turn off any other features you don’t need. While each feature does not demand much of the processor on its own, several can add up and slow things down.
Or you can buy a shutter-lag free single-lens reflex camera, which does not suffer from any delays, but cameras like those start at around $500, which could present a different problem.

4 tips to increase rechargeable battery life

Without proper care, your OLYMPUS LI-30B battery won't keep a charge as well as they used to. From your cellphone to your digital camera, here are a few things you can do.

This post comes from Dan Schointuch at partner site Money Talks News.

If you own an iPhone, laptop, digital camera or almost any rechargeable device, it probably runs on a lithium ion SAMSUNG ES65 battery. They pack a ton of power into a small space and do a great job of holding on to that power when not in use. But without proper care, your KODAK camera battery won't keep its charge as well as it used to.

That's perfectly normal. The capacity of all lithium ion  OLYMPUS camera battery  declines over time. When maintained properly, an iPhone 4 battery will keep 80% of its original capacity after 400 full charge-and-discharge cycles. But there are things you can do improve the lifespan of your CANON IXUS 750 battery. Post continues after video.

Stop running it down. First, stop running it all the way down. In fact, try not to drop below 20%. Think of your CANON DIGITAL IXUS 40 battery as a muscle. Working out at a gym for 20 minutes a day will get you into shape, but doing it for 20 hours a day isn't something you can keep up for very long.

Use it or lose it. But you also shouldn't leave your MINOLTA NP-200 battery  fully charged all the time. Like a muscle, your battery will atrophy if you never use it. So unplug it every once in a while and try to run it down by at least 10%.

Estimate your credit score for free

Some manufacturers may also recommend that you fully charge your OLYMPUS LI-40B battery, then completely drain it once a month. This is typically done to recalibrate the device's internal counter, which is used when estimating how much power you have left. But don't do it more often than necessary.

Remember: Heat = death. Stay away from heat. Heat is the natural enemy of lithium ion CANON ES-270 battery. Even at room temperature, one year of use can permanently reduce your battery's capacity by as much as 20%, and something like a laptop will run much warmer than room temperature.

If you're going to put a laptop through a period of heavy use, a good suggestion is to plug it in and remove the OLYMPUS LI-50B battery, storing it separately from your laptop in a cooler location.

You may also want to invest in an inexpensive cooling pad. It'll put an extra fan or two underneath your laptop to suck excess heat way.
Can you beat your state's average credit score?

If you use a case with your iPhone, iPad or other device, make sure that it's breathable. Long periods of use, especially never-ending cell calls, can generate a lot of extra heat. While a thick, airtight case may offer protection from the elements, it'll come at the cost of PANASONIC DMW-BCE10E battery life.

For iPhone users, Apple has posted a list of tips to optimize your CANON BP-511 battery life with some great suggestions for any phone -- like keeping it out of the sun or a hot car -- as well as some specific to iPhones. Read those tips here.
RIM has done the same for BlackBerry users, recommending, among other things, that you charge your BlackBerry as much as possible. These tips should help maximize your battery's short- and long-term life, no matter what phone you use.
Think long-term storage. If you have an extra CANON DIGITAL IXUS 40 battery you rarely use, or have decided to run your laptop off its charger and store your battery somewhere else until needed, many manufacturers recommend keeping it in a refrigerator with a 50% charge.
The refrigerator is a nice, cool place -- ideal for longer-term NIKON EN-EL3E battery storage. But don't put it in the freezer. Anything below freezing is too cold and will hasten your battery's demise.

No battery will last forever, and all will eventually have to be replaced. But with proper care, your NIKON EN-4 battery should be able to enjoy a long, healthy life.

Anton/Bauer Demonstrates Universal Applications Of Gold Mount System At NAB

Anton/Bauer, a brand of The Vitec Group, and the world's premier provider of camera batteries, camera battery chargers, lighting and other mobile power systems for the professional broadcast, video and film industries, will demonstrate the virtually limitless universal applications of its advanced Gold Mount System for non-camera uses, including the new QRC-MBPA Gold Mount power solution for the Apple MacBook at the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas (Stand: C7032).
Anton/Bauer's Gold Mount System offers universal applications that reach far beyond the camera, used on many types of portable non-camera equipment including monitors, scopes, microwave equipment and hard drives. For example, the new QRC-MBPA Gold Mount power solution works with the Apple MacBook, MacBook Pro and/or MacBook Air using the Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter (sold separately).

The QRC-MBPA allows for more Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 Charger battery options for broadcast and production professionals using their MacBook while working on-location without the availability of an adequate power source. Rather than purchasing or carrying additional extended life batteries, professionals can simple employ their existing Anton/Bauer inventory. The QRC-MBPA provides longer run-times when operating higher-powered, demanding programmes such as Final Cut Pro, and the computer seamlessly switches to its own internal Canon NB-6L battery without the loss of data.

Shin Minowa, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, said: "During this year's NAB, Anton/Bauer will demonstrate the virtually limitless versatility of our Gold Mount System, the most secure mounting system available for professionals on the market today. The Gold Mount offers Universal Applications that reach far beyond the camera, used on many types of portable non-camera equipment. The Gold mount provides an interchangeable Samsung ES65 Battery system using a forward compatible approach originally developed by Anton/Bauer, that allows for new cell chemistries as they develop."

Providing a secure snap-on approach to keep the Casio NP-120 Battery in place from any position, the Gold Mount is the basis of Anton/Bauer's power systems, providing secure contact for a steady stream of uninterrupted power, an inherent problem with other mounts causing users to experience intermittent power failure. Engineered from durable high-impact polymer, the Gold Mount employs self-cleaning gold-plated pins for high-current, allowing them to withstand the power required for today's cameras. The original Gold Mount's PowerTap provides 14v power to accessories including the Anton/Bauer Ulralight, wireless microphones, hard drives or other DC accessory to be powered from the camera battery. Other features of the Gold Mount include InterActive Viewfinder Fuel Gauge allowing communication directly to the camera's viewfinder. Providing power requirements ranging from 7.2v to 28v, the Anton/Bauer Gold Mount System is the most widely used battery mounting system in the industry.

Digital Camera Buying Guide: 10 Things You Should Know

Digital cameras are everywhere you turn now a days. They are practical and lately have developed considerably and are now just as well as conventional cameras. They also have clear advantages compared to conventional cameras, to name a few, you can take as many pictures as you like and do not need to think about saving the film because of the costs involved. You can print only the images you like. You can also edit images on your computer before printing out.
As a person stops taking pictures I made this page as a lot of people ask me what digital camera they should buy. Obviously, with the vast range of digital cameras available to buy I understand their problem. There are many factors involved. I made a Digital Camera Buying Guide, which should hopefully help you when you need to make the difficult choice to choose the best camera for your needs. Obviously, the more educated you are the best camera, you’ll be able to buy.
When choosing a digital camera you have to think about the image resolution, size and memory. All this can be very confusing, but I tried to explain everything on this website. As with everything you need to consider what you’ll need your camera. Everything you might need for your camera, you will find the best buy for it on this website. belowing
The are what you need to know before you buy a new camera:
1) Resolution is less important than you think
There is a popular misconception that more megapixels lead to better pictures. This is not the case.Sure, higher resolution allows you to crop more aggressively or print large pictures, but only a fraction of digital photographers will benefit from this capability. If you’re a casual shooter who will not be printing pictures larger than 8×10 “, extensive computer editing, then a camera of 5 – or 6-megapixel resolution will sufficient.More experienced photographers will probably appreciate the flexibility of higher resolution, but with a camera 10 + million pixels is not necessary to create stunning photos. Choose a camera, you can understand and afford, and do not be fooled by glitzy high resolution specs.
2) Zoom is more important that you think
Whether shooting distant wildlife or close-up portraits, you can never have too much zoom. Most digital cameras have 3 -, or 4x optical zoom, but you will never regret choosing a model with more telephoto power.Fortunately the extended zoom camera category is growing rapidly, and there is a wide choice of models with 8 -, 10 -, or even 12x optical zoom. For the ultimate in the zoom control and quality, look for an extended zoom camera with image stabilization, which will ensure that pictures taken with a telephoto lens will be addressed as a sharp picture without tripod.
3) Travelers should use cameras with AA Batteries
Digital cameras are of two types: those that use AA batteries and those powered by lithium-ion property. If you are a traveler, particularly someone who enjoys remote or rustic, choose a camera with a camera that uses AA batteries batteries. When property is short of power, you have no choice but to plug the battery into an electrical outlet for recharging. This requires an available outlet, a battery charger, and if you’re in a foreign country, a power converter. If access to a power is never in doubt, or if you do not want the hassle of cords and chargers transport The limits of this system are obvious. When a device that uses AA batteries is short of power during a trip, you just throw the old CANON NB-2LH battery and drop in a new set of AA high performance as the line Energizer E2 lithium. Two or three sets of such batteries can usually guide you through a journey of 10 days. If you do not have high-performance batteries, you can also use standard alkaline batteries, which are available worldwide, and make a cheap and convenient source of backup power (though it offers only a fraction of the life of high performance SONY NP-BG1 camera battery). recent travels in Asia and Africa have increased to this theory-after cameras my friends had been sidelined by dead batteries, I was still happy with my shot off.
4) small cameras produce images of this great don’t
Sure cameras, that big, black SLR with the long-may seem extravagant, but it will not do you any good if you do not wear it. Never underestimate the importance of having a camera that is small enough to fit in your pocket you’ll be surprised by the candid shots, you can take. Although the quality of photos produced by an ultra-compact does not equal that of an SLR, the ability of the whip and snap a shooting while others are fumbling for their bulky equipment more than offset this drawback.
5) Canon makes great digital cameras battery
Canon receive consistently great reviews, and for good reason: Over the last 2 years and more, Canon has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to produce well-designed cameras that produce impressive results. In the line of EOS Digital SLR to the diminutive PowerShot Elph, Canon invests much time in the design process and the results pay- photographers of all levels rave about their Canon cameras. There have been some mistakes along the way-the Canon A70 was built with a design flaw that produces crippling error messages and black lines on the LCD but newer models seem to be immune to this problem. If you are looking for a great combination of features, price and performance, Canon will almost always deliver. (NOTE: Digital Camera HQ is in no way affiliated with Canon, we derive no benefit from recommending one brand over another)
.
6) Kodak makes great, easy to use cameras
When I bought my mother her first digital camera, I chose Kodak, after reading countless reviews raved about their user-friendly controls. Comments were Kodak EasyShare digital cameras right are remarkably easy to use: the menus are simple, the LCD text large and clear, and largely controls themselves. The results are equally impressive, with beautiful, saturated colors and sharp definition. Do not be fooled into thinking that digital cameras are just for beginners, however, their simplicity aside, the Most high-end models EasyShare offer a full range of manual controls for photographers.
ambitieux
7) uk Digital Camera  battery pack break
Whether can and it is due to accidental damage or wear simple, digital cameras are not as durable as their counterparts in the film. Many photographers have cameras that are ten or twenty years-not expect that kind of longevity of your digital toys. Some devices suffer from design flaws (like black lines on the LCD of the ‘Canon A70), while others are victims of this kind of mechanical breakdowns that effect every kind of electronic gear.Does this mean that you should not buy a digital camera? Absolutely not. A digital camera to fundamentally change the way we think about photography that you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it. You must, however, be comfortable with the fact that one day your unit will cease to work.
For some, this knowledge may prevent them from spending the full price on a camera in your fantasy, others simply accept it as the single drop of working with digital. The most important thing is to do your homework before buying them fundamental design flaws will be quickly apparent in reviews.
utilisateur
8) Do not put all your photos on a card
After return from a trip to Asia, I eagerly inserted one of my memory cards into a card reader to download my new photos. For reasons still unexplained (probably a static discharge), a map which should take place more than 200 pictures was suddenly rendered blank. Two weeks and $ 250 later, I had recovered about 90% my photos, but the rest was lost permanently. The moral of the story? Like any other technology, flash memory is not flawless. It is very rare to lose images, but it happens, and the fact that I had my photo spread between 5 memory cards protected me from the possibility of losing two weeks worth of irreplaceable vacation memories. Given the choice between selecting a single memory card 1 GB, 256 MB or four cards, I always choose cards.
multiples
9) Find and use a simple photo montage program
Most digital photographers will never take the time to master expensive and powerful photo editing programs like Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro-these programs are too complex and tedious for all but devoted most photographers. Fortunately, there are a variety of easy to use editing programs that photographers, whether novice can use to modify, enhance, and organize their programs Digital photos. My favorite is Picasa, and it is absolutely free. With Picasa, you can perform all the basic editing tasks like sharpening, contrast correction, cropping, and recovery over a push of a button. Take few minutes on your best photos and you’ll be amazed at the results. Picasa also incredibly easy to organize your best shots you do not have to travel hundreds of unwanted pictures to find your prizewinners.
10) Print and display your pictures
Far too people take great digital images, only to have them languish in obscurity on their hard drive, never to be enjoyed by others. Do not let this happen to you.Online image hosting and printing companies like Snapfish or Kodak Gallery can turn your digital images into high quality prints of any size. You can simply upload your photos on the site. From there, you can order prints of all sizes as well as mousepads photo, calendars, t-shirts and other gifts. You can also send a link to friends so they can view your photos online and order their own copies.

Laptop Is Better For Education

The news that the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project is close to launching a tablet for children is pretty remarkable. Non-profit founder Nicholas Negroponte said this week that OLPC hopes to have a working prototype of its XO-3 tablet computer by December 2010, and that it plans to debut the device at the January 2011 Consumer Electronics Show.
The sub-0 price tag will be prove even more astounding if the XO-3 fulfills its creators’ goals of melding the iPad, Kindle, and laptop into a durable, kid-friendly package.
But is this a realistic goal for such a low-cost device? Given the history of OLPC’s much-ballyhooed 0 laptop, which never quite hit its aggressive price point and now costs nearly twice as much (you can donate one for 9 to a child in a developing nation), I have my doubts. And don’t forget about the abandoned XO-2 touchscreen device, a project cancelled last year when OLPC realized the unit would cost too much to make, Forbes reports.
So what do we know about the XO-3? It’s expected to be a 9-inch touchscreen tablet powered by a 1GHz processor, although the specs could change between now and CES. Made mostly (but not entirely) of plastic, it may also feature a reflective (non-backlit) display, such as those found on the Kindle and similar e-readers. A reflective screen, which uses less energy and is easier to read in direct sunlight, would benefit kids who do a lot of schoolwork outdoors. A backlit display, however, is easier to read indoors, particularly in rooms with little ambient light.
Laptops, Not Tablets
Even if OLPC delivers the XO-3 as promised, is a tablet computer really the best choice for school children? As the iPad has shown us, the tablet is a device for content consumption, not creation. It’s a very good e-reader, video viewer, and Web browser, but it’s far from ideal for writing lengthy documents like school reports.
By comparison, a conventional laptop has a physical keyboard, and its conventional clamshell design is better suited to a desk-oriented classroom setting. True, the laptop may not be particularly sexy or in fashion this season, but it’ll likely offer a better educational payoff.
A tablet may be a better form factor for electronic textbooks, but the XO-3′s barebones design–again, tailored for the needs of developing nations–may make the device an underpowered, ergonomically poor choice for e-textbooks (provided they’re available).
What do you think? Laptops or tablets for the classroom?
